Read about the USS Zumwalt, featuring a wave-piercing tumblehome hull, and weapon cancelation due to costs per "bullet."

After reading the whole thing and the Navy objects to the unit cost of $800,000 per bullet. However, since it is guided, as with any type of guided missile, I don't see the cost out of line with ordinance like Hellfire or Stinger, which has a much shorter range.

From an article that the one you posted linked to, it sounds like there are other options other than the top shelf guided ordnance discussed here. Tomahawks, and the like. I've seen artist's renderings of these stealth ships and wondered how they were armed. Sounds like a killing machine.

Yeah, that's how I got to this article, via that other one. and another one on rail gun developments. Actually, The Diplomat is a very interesting site, I read it all the time.
