up at the farm with orange marmalade & grape jelly!
Marmalade is the 6.5SAUM. Brought that sucker over to a friend's farm where I hung steel @ 970yds. Made a solid 1st round hit with 140grJLK load, then coached three other farmhands into making good hits, too! Those fellas were smilin' almost as much as I was...too fun!!!
Grape is now a 6x45AI. Shot that out to 550yds while fireforming brass. 71Bergers runnin' a mild 3025fps, and 95SMKs hit 2750. Not bad for 24gr of powder. Have high hopes for this cartridge, but need to do some work on getting those long azz 95gr loads to feed from the magazine...
McMillan says the Mint Julep stock for my .17Predator should be here by tomorrow
Then, see what flavor to come up with, next??? [ July 29, 2015, 04:43 AM: Message edited by: knockemdown ]

I'm glad I haven't taken any Viagra lately. Otherwise I would probably be getting some wood right now.

Thanks fellas! Leonard, "pearl jam" will be perfect for the A3 flame swirly that's coming next month! Its going on a big .30 caliber LR build... That A3 will complete the Micky handled arsenal, and I will have no good reason to ever build another rifle, ever again...

Buddy's farm, from shooting position. That 970yd plate is hiding up there, in the top center fencerow. That faaaar woodline up/left is 1430yds...
Took the 7WSM up there yesterday, was hammering the middle out of that plate. Video thru my spotting scope, note the R-L mirage & bullet trace... video LINKY
And did a bit of flyfishing outside of town. No bites, though. Prolly my dang dog swimmin' around wasn't helpin', so I'm blaming him!!!
Soooo lucky to get away to such a pretty place. Politics aside, NY is a wonderful state... [ August 03, 2015, 08:17 AM: Message edited by: knockemdown ]

You have the right kind of creek for fly fishing, Fred. That's something I can hardly ever find, in the Sierra's. There are lakes and impoundments suitable but most of the creeks and rivers are so brush choked a normal cast is almost impossible. Unless I'm missing something? I have seen some great streams in Colorado, never set foot in Montana, but judging by Troy's photos, also great for a fly rod. But, I fish like he does, spin tackle.
New York. Hard to give credit when the politics are just as screwed up as where I live; The People's Republik. Where, we just learned they (City of Los Angeles) have banned/outlawed "high capacity" magazines, by a unanimous vote. And, thoughtfully, they have given citizens 60 days to turn them in.
Does anybody doubt that Liberalism is a mental illness?
Good hunting. El Bee

Got a pic of the .30-338 Norma Mag Imp 30° from 'smith last week.
Just had to install cheekpiece hardware and bed the action. Hoping he had a chance to test fire it, this past weekend!?!

Can't wait to see what that big gray bastid will do at distance! But gotta say, the little 6.5SAUM (marmalade) can sure bring it @ 1K. Well 965yds, actually. Shooting on same farm as previous vid, very convenient... marmalade video linky
