Used to hunt jack rabbits like this back in the day, except it was with .22 rifles and shotguns, and we were shooting out of the bed of an old pick-up truck.

There are still areas that I hunt where the jacks are pretty numerous. One pasture in particular has more jacks than most of the rest of the area that I hunt combined and there are ALWAYS coyotes in there. I don't know why but that pasture has more big yucca plants in it then any other pasture around. I'm sure it makes it hard for the coyotes to catch those rabbits. It's just perfect habitat for the rabbits to survive.
Rabbit numbers, including cottontails, are up around my calling area. Should be good calling for the next few years because of it.
I never have actively hunted rabbits, well I guess I did one time back in high school, with a friend and his beagles. It was a hoot.

I've done that with a 22 auto shooting over the top of the cab. It's probably a little illegal, but they will never take me alive so don't bother snitching on me.

As to this here video. I don't know exactly how I feel about it, considering the privilege, thousands of acres, full fucking auto and other considerations.

No doubt, hogs are a huge problem, but if there is evidence of rooting and destruction, I didn't notice? It's had to believe that a few dedicated weekends and a couple thousand rounds would not take care of the problem. Okay, a few dozen weekends, but with that kind of gear, I think it could be under control.

Personally, I think these guys are getting a thrill up their legs, rather than a chore needing attention.

In the comments somebody asked if they were edible? I suppose there is a round up of some sort? After all, pork is pork. But, thats a lot of carcasses to butcher in the morning. I wonder how much gets trucked to the land fill?

Good hunting. El Bee
