Got the feeling it was going to leave us on the side of the road soon Its a 2007 and had 183 k on the clock after years of the road coming in here the front end had issues it needed shocks on the front and those alone were 500 bucks and then we are talking bushing et al and the transmission was the smoothest sifting I had ever driven starting to make little slips and slow shifts. it was time the dealer gave me 8300 for it , got a new 2020 Tacoma SR 5 4x4
The FJ gave us not one day of grief after eight years it owed us nothing hated to let it go but it was time At my age breaking down is not an option ! I have a little 2 wheel taco with 303,000 miles still runs great just a ranch truck never really goes anywhere !
The coyotes are vocal again may have to go put some blood in the back of the new truck
!

congrats on the upgrade. My 07 Tacoma has 218,000 miles now and I've got an itch for something newer, but this darn thing doesn't show any signs of leaving me stranded, yet...

Enjoy the new ride. I think blood in the bed makes them last longer....

Is this where your best friend says; why didn't you let me know? I would have given you 12k for it!

For me, I keep a vehicle way too damned long, run the wheels off it and when I'm through, it gives up with a whimper.

I sold my Titan for what the dealer would offer as trade, which isn't much. But, I can't remember ever not having a truck since 1969? I bought a Datsun 1300 PU and I remember very clearly what I paid for my first brand new vehicle. It was $1830 and the dealer threw in a set of fat tires on the rear. Maybe it wouldn't go over 70MPH, buy other than that, with those Gates X Commandos, it really would go anywhere a full size four wheel drive truck would go and maybe a little more? You know what they say, how far you have to walk out of that rough stuff.

So, I got this SUV now and I am starting to feel naked without a truck because I'm a truck guy! (excuse me, if that sounds a little Gay) I never kissed a hunting partner with my eyes closed!

I'm thinking that I might get a truck, but the females do like this rig. Also, I'm going broke at the damned car wash! I never minded driving a dirty truck. Oh well, no hurry, I guess?

What color, Paul? Seems like the only color AZ people buy is white. I know, I know. Got something to do with reflecting sunshine. It's still boring.

Good hunting. El Bee

Good for you Paul.
Traded my 2016 in on a new Toyota Tundra in January.
We needed the bigger engine to pull with since we sold our Ford a little earlier that month.
The Tacoma was the inferno color and I loved it. It looked terrible when it was dirty. The new tundra is calvary blue. It was the only color I wanted since they don't make the Inferno now. Will not buy black or red and have had way to many white trucks in my life.

I'm like you LB I'm a truck gal. Hate actual cars. It's like this,
"There was a Man from Boston who owned a American Austin. He had room for his ass a gallon of gas and his balls hung out and he lost them".

When I was in Europe in 1961, I was all set to buy either an Austin Healy Sprite or an MG Midget, they were just about the same thing. I could have bought a brand new one for $1200. But the Berlin Crisis got hot and then I got sent to Florida for the Cuban Missile crisis. I know, ancient history, huh? What's that? Anyway, a brand new sports car for twelve hundred bucks? They were cute little fuckers! I think they had a removable hard top, I know they were convertibles?

Had a couple of AH Sprites. The wife and I had a lot of fun in those little cars. Kinda would like to have another small ragtop two seater to go on drives with. Gotta stay away from the scooters. I would end up crashing and burning after I launched myself off the side of the road thinking I was some sort of kid road racer.

Refreshing some memories I remember growing up with old Nortons,Matchlesses AJS, BSA's Triumphs Royal Enfields etc. My dad liked English bikes and I loved his old Manx Norton and the G50 Matchless. Old puka bikes and I was lucky enough to be able ride a lot of them. Nice race bikes for their day.
Remember the English Whitworth wrenches we had to use on those old timers. Ended up with English, American and metric wrenches in the shop.
Kinda dates us a little doesn't it. Remember those JAP grass track speedway bikes that burned alcohol/ On and on.

Most of the speedway bikes were 500 cc single Jawa's no brakes and not much of a seat! All the bikes you listed Walt I rode in the Desert sled version my favorites were the AJS and Matchless! Riding in the ponderosa one year Steve McQueen went past me like I was eatin lunch on a Triumph twin in a silk shirt with slacks on! I wanted to go home !

Ah yes, those magic names, Greeves, Bultaco, Norton but for me, and the reason I walked away without all the epidermis missing from my shoulder to my ankle, plus half my scalp, & more or less; came to my senses! And yes, it was a nifty little Triumph, shirtsleeves, and no goggles when I got hit in the face, and inhaled a swarm of friggin' gnats. Choked, couldn't breath, blind at 60MPH with oncoming traffic! And then....nothing happened? But I felt like walking all the way back.

Anyway, I guess what always scared the shit out of me was those assholes that when you are riding behind them and they power shift and try to toss you head over heels. When I think of those times when I could have landed on my head and the driver seemed oblivious? They are all basically death wish anyway, let's face it! All I know is, I do not get it? And, I'm cured!

And, the bullshit & laughable "safety" consideration in AZ, that helmets are dangerous!

Good hunting. El Bee

My Ducati 998 was breathed on by many fine mechanic's It was clocked at 204 on gps best bike I ever owned ! been on the ground once or twice but no great shakes . I would not trade my bike experiences for anything. racing or pleasure riding !

Talking about bugs in the face.
Was riding one spring and around Idaho they like to place bee hives close to roads. Started up this one dirt road and bam in the neck got hit. Had a friend riding with me. I slammed on the brakes jumped off jerked the helmet off and told the guy to get it out! He just about had a heart attack on me. He thought it was down my shirt. I finally got him settled down enough to get the singer out of my neck.

Took a butterfly one time in the chest going about 60 and thought I was going to get knocked off the bike. Got a clear plexiglass windshield after that.

Also while going up the highway the IDOT had lost a 5 gallon pail of road paint it was white pain and that is some slick chit at 60. Had white paint in my tires for a long time and my black snowmobile suit I used to ride in was pin striped with white paint.

Don't ride or even have a motorcycle anymore way to many stupid people on the roads and they love to get to close to riders and way to many stupid motorcycle riders too.

It's ATV's and UTV's for us. The though of crashing and planting knees into the ground scare me to death. Since I've had both of them replaced now.

A couple of weeks ago my truck went thru a swarm of bees on the highway. Can't even imagine what that would be like for one of our t-shirt / cut-offs / no helmet bikers but I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be good.

IF YOU HAVE EVER heard of Rahaugee's? You can go in the back way through an open field that must be a half a mile long dirt road, and the whole time, you had better have your windows rolled up all the way! Swarms of honey bees, and I do not use the term lightly! I don't know? maybe it's just spring and summer, but if the number of bees is any indication, some beekeeper must have his hands full! In fact, it can't be one bee keeper, there are way too many bees, it a horde! You won't ever see something like this again!

For those that don't know, Rahaugee's is a huge shooting complex in Corona, CA. I'll look it up and provide a link.

Good hunting. El Bee

I'm not sure those assholes need any help dreaming up rules and restrictions and yanking our Constitution and it's Bill of Rights. How important is the Second Amendment when these cocksuckers start arresting people for playing Tee Ball and sunbathing on a deserted beach. But, it's like they always say, the first thing they need to do is take our guns!

Now, when they do that in The People's Republik, and start rounding up people like me, SWAT raids at 3A.M. Will all you guys come to our aid? Or, will you <shrug> and say, "fuck 'em", they were stupid enough to live in that commie socialist state, why break a sweat over 33 million Deplorable's?

Just kidding, I know you guys got our back....right?
