Interesting article even though at the end it says it's from 2011.

But, here's the thing. Suddenly, Seal Team 6 has to buy sniper rifles from England? There are components that are critical, triggers are very important. Barrels are super important. They talk about barrel harmonics and not every application requires hitting a target at 2300 meters or yards or whatever it was?

I dunno? I'm a little peeved to think that we have to outsource sniper rifles to a foreign country. Okay, if they do, it's time to wake up and smell the coffee. Start building a superior rifle in America! You know, it's all quality control and repeatability, one example to another. We can't sort through a crate of rifles to find the one that is a "one holer".

But, don't we have to assume that the ammunition is an equal component to the hardware. I know factory ammunition has improved drastically, if you can believe some of the articles I have read lately. But, I might be old fashioned in thinking that these snipers are more than likely loading their own reloads. A quality sharpshooter or marksman should know how to get the best out of his weapon and that involves custom handloading. If it don't, then I am sadly mistaken.

Anyway, the chassis rifle is a legitimate concept.

Good hunting. El Bee
